My Morning Walk With Dusty

Usaully early in the mornings I have my long walk with my dog, Dusty. There was one unsual morning, it was very cold and the snow was coming down heavely. So no matther what the weather is, my dog and I have to go out for our ritual walks together around the neighborhood. This one was a rare morning. I became aware that it was a very quiet morning to the put of silence. I became sensitive to the silence and to my surroundings while some people were just walking the streets in differnent directions.

Where are they going? Or I know is that they were going somewhere...probably to work, their home, to the laundry mat. Some were opening their business, some were probably walking to school, some were waiting for the bus to go to school or to go to work. Some were probably going home from somewhere. Some were probably going to have breakfast with someone they know or maybe by themselves, or just have a cup a coffee while reading the daily newspaper....it was the ritual daily living!

Probably many are going to a shelter for whatever reasons they ended there, some have got up from sleeping in a corner street somewhere, some don't have a job to go to. Some probably have to go to their spouses, lover, parents, or children that physically, emotionally, mentally abuses them, and subjects themselves to such cruelty. Some have to go home to someone that has addiction problem...I mean WHO knows but then again WHO cares? It's their lives, one do not determine where their choices takes them!

The streets are littered with the stuff of late night party goers, empty bottles, brochures, cigarette butts. My dog seems very happy with our walk together. Anyway, as I am walking with my dog, I hear nothing but empty silence. I hear no birds chirping, no dogs barking, no car honking, not even a someone saying "good morning"....just a deep empty silence!

My dog stop for a moment, and this beautiful creature just looked up to me with his tail wagging so fast, as if he wanted to say to me "Thank You." That moment brought a smile to my face...he reminded me that life is very good and I am grateful for all of God's blessings in my life...and how much I enjoy having my walks with my dog Dusty.

A Letter

When was the last time I have written a letter to say....

"I appreciate you,"

"Thank you"

"I love you"

"A real love letter is absolutely ridiculous to everyone except the writer and the recipient".

Spring is near...

For that last couple of months it's been nothing but freezing cold, thick snow, heavy rain, and storms...today God blessed us with a "beautiful day"....I am feeling for the mood of Spring to come and looking forward to see all the beautiful living things to come alive and breathing. Sigh!
